Cord Control

in All Tips, Organizing

It’s amazing how one little idea can turn into an all day project!  I decided I wanted to move my Christmas tree a few inches away from the wall.  This led me to think that the couch would look a little better at an angle which would require the moving of the entertainment center a foot or so.  In order to do that, everything would need to be taken out of the drawers because that thing is HEAVY!  And while I’m at it, I might as well organize everything in those drawers.  And that is where I am at right now.  I just finished untangling all the cords and sorting them into a keep pile and a thrift pile.  All the keepers got nicely wrapped with a pipe cleaner.

And this drawer is so much more manageable.  I can see exactly what I have and can grab it without taking everything else with me.  I also tried out the empty toilet paper roll method.  Works like a charm, but I only have 2.  So while I save up on those, the other cords are stacked neatly in a pile.

Great idea! Another cord related idea I received through an e-mail, use bread tags to label cords.
