Holiday Parties and a Cheese Tree

Have the parties started for you yet?  Our first of the season was with Aaron’s coworkers and was a couple of weeks ago.  It was potluck and I decided to make a cheese tree, inspired by this one.  Okay, I’m pretty much a complete copy cat, but I’m okay with that.  Why mess with perfection, right?

It was as simple as cubing the cheese (I used Pepper Jack, Sharp Cheddar, and Extra Sharp Cheddar) and then arranging it on a plate with some cherry tomatoes and fresh thyme sprigs.  Oh and to top it off, a mushroom with a star carved into it.  Nothing to this festive hors d’oeuvre; whip it up in a matter of minutes!

Next on the schedule is a drinking party (hot chocolate/hot apple cider/italian sodas) tomorrow evening.  Oh, am I excited about this!!  And then our annual family Christmas party is on Sunday.  If I could just get invited to an ugly sweater party, my partying would be complete.  I have never been to one and they sound so fun!

Do you have a favorite holiday party?
