I didn’t think to check whether or not this was safe for the plant until after the fact. I was just too excited to try it out! Much to my dismay, I am finding out that it’s probably not the best solution. Besides clogging up the leaves’ pores, the Mayo might attract dust and end up as a dried oily layer if it gets too much sunlight. Only time will tell how my poor little plant will take it. For now, I think it looks nice and spiffy.
The best way to shine plant leaves is simply with water and a cloth, wiping each leaf clean. I will definitely be trying this next time.
