DIY Finger Paints & Children’s Artwork Display Ideas

After breakfast this morning and before Jayna’s bath I decided to whip up a batch of finger paint.  And when I say whip, I mean whip!  It’s super easy to make your own finger paint and it only takes a few minutes.

While the paints were cooling off, I took a picture of one of her little teacups and turned it into an outline that she could paint, cropped it and printed it off.  I did this with my camera (Menu –> Retouch Menu –> Color Outline).  If your camera doesn’t have this feature you could always use Picnik (Effects —> Pencil Sketch), which by the way will be gone after April :(

Afterwards, we proudly hung it on this clipboard my sister in law gave us for Christmas!  For more ideas on how to display children’s artwork and what to do with it, check out my Pinterest Board.

How cute!! Love this idea. No kids yet but this would be a cute little gift for some of my mommy friends! Thanks for sharing!

This is SO adorable, and I love the fact that you took a picture of something familiar to her to paint. I’m not sure where you find the time, pretty impressive.

Visiting from Delightful Order linky party. Never knew I could make my own finger paints! Love it and going to do it with my 3 year old this weekend. New follower!
