Containerize: Toy Storage Bins with Chalkboard Labels

One of the best ways to organize a space is to containerize!  Not only does it seem to expand the available space (no way could I fit all those toys and books onto that shelf without those bins), but it looks nice too.

After seeing some very expensive, but similar bins in the latest Parents magazine, I decided to do it myself!  I found these unfinished wood bins at Joann’s for about $8.00 a piece after using a coupon.  I first sanded them down with some fine sand paper and then applied stain we had left over from refinishing our table.  I taped a section off and applied chalkboard paint for a fun label and we piled Jayna’s goods in!

And since I am continually accruing late fees at the library, I thought it’d be a good idea to jot a little note as to when the books are due!  Hopefully this will help me remember to take them back on time!

Oooh, what a great idea. I love bins for storing Little Crafter’s multitude of stuff and I really like the look of the chalkboard paint. Thanks for sharing at Shine on Fridays last week!

Adorable designs. I wish to have those in my lounge so that children can enjoy playing items within an organize bins.

I have been to three Joanne Fabric stores and have been unable to find the bins you used. Do you remember what they were called? Did you order them online?
