Hey! How’s that microwave of yours looking? Do you dread all the scrubbing it’s going to take to get all that stuck on food off? Well, dread no more. I’ve got the perfect solution for you!
 |
| Step 1: Fill a microwave-safe bowl 1/2 full of water. |
 |
| Step 2: Squeeze a whole lemon into the water. |
 |
| Step 3: Microwave for 5 minutes. Then let sit for 1-2 minutes (with door closed). |
 |
Step 4: Carefully remove the bowl, as well as the glass turn tray. Wipe microwave clean – everything
should lift easily! |
 |
| Step 5: Wash turn tray in warm soapy water and return to microwave. |
Try it out. I know you’ll be glad you did!

This really does work! I even just used a water soaked tea towel and microwaved for 3-4 minutes and just left it for a couple minutes more as it is HOT! I then used the tea towel to wipe it out! Great Idea!
I also like to add some baking soda to help eliminate odors and I use lemon juice from the little jug. The two elements will react a little, so don’t over fill or you will have a little volcano on your hands. Works great to then pour into my kitchen sink where my garbage disposal is–two for one!
Wow! Neat idea! Wanna come clean mine for me? Thanks for sharing at Shine on Fridays!
I really need to try this. Does it take off the brown stains from hard water too?
Works amazing, going to add it to my weekly chores!
Worked so well I wanted to share it with all my friends on my blog. Thank you for all your tips.

i’ve been doing this forever without the lemon. I’ll try it next time this way :)
This worked like magic when I tried it! My boyfriend was looking at me all funny when I was doing it, and then even more when I was so excited at how easily everything wiped off. I’m really trying hard to keep our new microwave as new looking as possible, for as long as possible!! Thank you!!
Amazing! Thanks for making my chore list go that much quicker! :D
Great idea!!! I’ve been doing it for years but never thought of adding the lemon. Leaves a much nice smell…Thanks and happy blogging…Terry Lee Rambo
This works very very well and we also add baking soda and for the solution we mix 1/2 water and 1/2 vinegar and lemon.
Loved this!!! :)
Vinegar and water also works pretty good!
