We live in a community of townhouses which seems to be a hot spot for pesky salespeople, especially come summer time. We may or may not have bought a bottle of all-purpose cleaner for the exuberant price of $30 a couple of summers ago…EEK!
Well this year I won’t even have to worry about not being able to say no, because I just won’t open the door! Aaron installed a peep hole and today I’m going to show you how easy it was.
All it took was a peephole kit (about $6.00 from Home Depot), a drill and a couple of bits.
First we drilled a starter hole through the door with a 1/8″ bit.
Then we used a 1/2″ bit for the finished hole, drilling halfway through on each side of the door.
Disassembled the viewer, screwed it into the door,
and we now have a peephole!

I’d love a peephole in my door! Thanks for the info.
Now you might want to protect your privacy by installing a peephole cover because of reverse peephole viewers.
Seems easy enough! Thanks for sharing!
Our door has a peep hole, and it works great if you are 7′ tall.
Being under 5′ it does me no good, lol.
Great blog :)
Haha Tracy! That’s funny because we joked about who we should accommodate before drilling the hole – 6’5 husband or 5’6 me :)
At what height did you put the hole?
We put it at my eye level which is about 5’4 high.
