I have a confession. Since we moved, I haven’t been using our homemade laundry soap that saves us oodles of money. Up until a couple of weeks ago we would haul our laundry upstairs and use my in-laws washer and dryer. They are the high efficiency kind and my MIL uses Tide–my favorite and what I used before we switched to homemade! It has been a good reunion.
Don’t get me wrong, I love to save money–but sometimes the extra cost can be justified. The way Tide gets your clothes so clean and fresh just can’t be beat!
Well, now we have our own washer and dryer set in the basement and I have to get my own laundry detergent. I was starting to feel like a moocher anyway, so it probably would have happened sooner or later. But, I haven’t had to make the decision whether or not to buy or make just yet. This bag of Tide Pods arrived for me to review just in the nick of time! The only 3-chamber unit dose on the market, Tide Pods are a powerful 3-in-1 detergent that cleans, brightens, and fights stains. Just what a mom like me needs to make my messy toddler’s clothes last!
One of the first things I noticed about the Tide Pods was that they can be used in standard as well as high-efficiency washers. I couldn’t help myself from doing one last load upstairs. One thing that drove me crazy about that HE washer was that it was so hard to get the correct amount of detergent. I would almost always have leftover, half dissolved watery powder:
Anybody else has that problem? I was very curious as to how the Tide Pods would do. I soon learned they don’t even go in that little tray. You put them in the main compartment and then add your clothes–problem solved!
Of course it works just the same with a standard washer. Pop in. Stand out. No measuring or pouring. The entire thing dissolves in the washer. Pretty cool if you ask me!
Tide Pods will definitely be in the running, come time to get more detergent!
