Summer is just around the corner and that means 3 months of no work for the Mr.!! Bring on the family time and a vacation! Last year my in-laws took Aaron and I on our first cruise, an unforgettable trip through the Baltic Sea with Norwegian Cruise Line and let me tell you-cruises are the way to go! As if traveling in and of itself were not enjoyable enough, throw in all you can eat food, maid service, and great entertainment and you have the ultimate vacation!
Although I had never been on a cruise before, I had heard plenty of good things about them. And Norwegian Cruise Line did not disappoint! We especially liked the Freestyle Cruising. We could dine whenever was best for us, dress was casual, and there were a variety of restaurants to choose from. Most nights we just ate at one of the main dining rooms, where meals were complimentary. There was enough variety that we didn’t tire of the menu, and you could order as much as you wanted! It was almost embarrassing some nights as the men in our group would order 2 to 3 main courses! We had fun getting to know the different waiters and waitresses. Dinner time was definitely a highlight of the cruise!
The next best thing aboard the ship was entertainment. No matter the time of day, there was always something going on somewhere. We played basketball, participated in a 3-point shooting contest (which I was the proud winner of, woot woot!!), went to a couple shows, a concert and learned about art in a class before going to the Hermitage. While we left our babe at home, we were impressed that it was so family friendly. We would see big groups of kids playing games supervised by fun cruise staff. Aaron and I are even considering taking our two small kiddos on a cruise this summer! Norwegian Cruise Line has a youth program serving kids ages 6 months to 17 years. Every day is designed and programmed with a different theme that will appeal to each age group with fun, exciting and interactive activities.
Off the boat was awesome as well! Our cruise was a 9 day excursion, so we were able to see quite a bit! We stopped in five different places, and each one became our new favorite. It was a rich cultural experience for me as I had never been to Europe before-a trip I will always remember!!
A couple of highlights:
And of course everyone loves the cute towel animals that await you each night on board the ship!
Cruises are definitely a great value! Norwegian Cruise Line gives families their best vacation ever with Freestyle Cruising and with their youth program, kids will never be bored! Visit Norwegian Cruise Line for more information.
