For light and fluffy mashed potatoes, use an electric mixer.
This may seem like a no-brainer to some of you (maybe all of you??), but using a mixer to mash potatoes is a totally new concept to me! Thanks to my friend Genica, I’ll never use a potato masher again. EVER.
Our Bosch was a wedding present from my husband’s grandparents. Sadly enough, it has been underutilized for the past five years. But alas, I am learning of it’s greatness.
It whips the perfect mashed potatoes. So wonderfully light and fluffy.
- 6 potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
- 4-8 Tbsp butter
- ⅓ C milk
- salt and pepper to taste
- Boil potatoes in a large pot until tender. Heat butter and milk in a small saucepan, taking care not to boil. Drain potatoes thoroughly and place in the bowl of a mixer. Add butter, milk, salt, and pepper and mix on medium for 30-60 seconds. Serve immediately.
