Soft Flannel Hankies for Those Runny Noses

This little babe woke up with a runny nose the other day. And we happened to be all out of tissues. We also happened to get a whopping 2 1/2 feet of beautiful soft snowfall that prevented me from hopping in the car and running to the store. Knowing his little nose would be raw by the end of the day if I resorted to using toilet paper, I decided to fashion a bunch of hankies out of a flannel receiving blanket.

I used pinking shears to cut the squares and got about 15 out of one blanket.

Wonderful alternative to tissues for a couple of reasons. First, they are thicker than tissues. No snot is going to break through these things. Second, they are so soft! That should probably be first. Gentleness is top priority when it comes to wiping the nose over and over again. Plus, they’re cute!

What are your thoughts? Yay or nay to hankies?

That is the best idea! My babies haven’t been babies for a very long time but when the grandbabies arrive I will be using your idea. Thanks.

I love this! What a great way to use your flannel baby blankets once your baby outgrows them too. We all know that toddlers still get runny noses :)
